International hoopsters finished strong in their preseason games and now they have some days off to enjoy Christmas and Holidays’ spirit. 

Let’s start with Elena Tsineke from the University of South Florida (9-4,0-0 AAC), who played three games against Ole Miss (12-1,0-0 SEC), High Point (3-6,0-0 Big South), and VCU (5-4,0-0 Atlantic 10). The final score of the first game against Ole Miss was 53-61 (loss) with Elena having played 31 minutes, 3-4 FG, 2-2 FT, 1 DRB, 1 assist, 4 steals, and 10 points total. Elena’s team defeated High Point University with a final score 62-46.  She contributed to the win by playing 25 minutes, 4-7 FG, 1-1 3PT, 5-5 FT, 2 DRB, 5 assists, and 14 total points. Another win against Virginia Commonwealth University, when Elena had 18 minutes, 3-9 FG, 1-4 3pt, 1 OFRB, 1 assist, 7 total points. Final score of the game 57-64. Elena’s twin sister Katerina Tsineke from the University of Montana (8-2) had an outstanding performance against Seattle (4-5) which helped the team to get the win with a score 83-57. Katerina with only 17 minutes had 7-11 FG, 3-6 3pt, 1-2 FT, 1DRB, 1 Assist, 2 Blocks, 1 Steal, and 18 total points.

Ioanna Chatzileonti from Kansas (9-1) completed two games against Santa Clara (5-2) and Wichita St. (9-3). Ioanna with her consistency helped KU get the win against Santa Clara with a final score 80-65. In only 17:44 minutes Ioanna accomplished 5-5 FG, 5-5 FT, 3 DRB. 1 steal, and 15 total points. The final score of the win against Wichita State was 68-55. She had 27 minutes, 1-5 FG, 1-2 FT, 1 OFRB, 3DRB,1 assist,1 steal, and 9 total points.

Ioanna Krimili from the University of San Francisco (5-6,0-0 WCC) had an amazing performance as always against Cal State Fullerton University (5-3) with Ioanna playing 35 minutes having 7-15 FG, 4-7 3PT, 1-2 FT, 2 OFRB, 4 DRB, 2 assists, and 19 total points. It was not enough to get the win and they lost 53-62. 

Seval Gul from Saint Louis University (4-7,0-0 Atlantic 10) played a good game against University of Illinois Chicago (2-7,1-3 Horizon) which led them to win 75-47. Seval played 16 minutes having 3-6 FG, 2 ORB, 7DRB, 2 assists, and 6 total points. Northern Ky.(7-3,2-2 Horizon) visited St. Louis and captured the win with final score 69-80. Seval’s performance was noteworthy. She had 29 minutes with 7-13 FG, 1 ORB, 4DRB, and 14 total points.

Varvara Papakonstantinou plays for Livingstone College 2-7 (1-0 CIAA) and she had a game against Bowie State 3-6 (1-1 CIAA). The final score was 64-55 with Varvara’s team getting the win. She helped the team with 12 minutes, 2-4 FT, 2 DRB, and 2 points total.

Georgia Sideri plays for University of Pikeville (5-6, 1-5). She had only two games before Christmas break against Shawnee State (3-6, 2-3) which they won 81-61 with Georgia having 8 minutes, 2-2 FG, 1-1 3PT,1 ORB, 1 Steal, and 5 total points. West Virginia University of Technology lost to University of Pikeville 89-77. Georgia performed well in 12 minutes having 2-5 FG, 1 ORB, and 4 total points.

Paraskevi Koilia from Furman University (6-6,0-0) SoCon played against Charleston Southern (0-8,0-0 Big South). Final score of the game was 86-68 with Furman University getting the win. Paraskevi helped the team by playing 26 minutes having 3-4 FG,4 DRB, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 6 total points. Another game against Kennesaw St. (5-6) which gets the win from Furman University 59-70. She had 28 minutes on the board with 1-2 FG, 2 DRB, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 total points.

Elena Pilakouta from Omaha University (3-4) beat  St Mary's University (0-2) with final score 87-57. Elena recorded 21 minutes with 2-8 FG, 3 ORB, 1 DRB, 1 assist, 2 steals, and 4 points total.

Andrianna Kassapi from Benedictine University 0-1, (0-0) lost by 3 points to Montana Tech 1-0 (0-2) with final score 65-68. Andrianna helped the team by playing 26 minutes, with 6-11 FG, 1-2 3pt, 3-3 FT, 3 DRB, 4 assists, and 16 total points.

Athina Lexa from Canisius College (2-9,0-2 MAAC) lost to Manhattan (6-5,1-1 MAAC) with a score 63-85. She played a good game, having on the board 20 minutes,4-8 FG, 1-4 3pt, 1 DRB, and 9 total points.

Elena Tzelou from Casper Junior College played well against Allen County Community College. She had 12 minutes, 3-6 FG, 1-1 3pt, 2 DRB, 1 assist, and 9 points total. The Thunderbirds got the win with a final score 66-46.
